The Forum of Former Councillors who served during the administration of former Jigawa State Governor, His Excellency Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has honoured him with a plaque of appreciation.
The award was presented during a courtesy visit to the former governor, now Minister of Defence, at his residence in Kano on Friday, 20th June 2025. The recognition was for his role as the first Jigawa State governor to settle all outstanding severance allowances owed to local government councillors from 1999 to 2023.
Presenting the award, the Forum’s Chairman, Alhaji Mustafá Isyaku Sholy, said it was a token of gratitude for the support and goodwill the former governor extended to councillors throughout his administration.
The Forum reaffirmed its support for Badaru Abubakar and pledged to stand with him in future political activities within the state.
The visit was witnessed by the Member representing Hadejia Constituency in the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Jallo, and former Chairman of Gumel Local Government, Alhaji Ahmed Rufai Gumel.
