The wife of the Jigawa State Governor, Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi, hosted representatives from 28 states for the 2024 National Orphan Qur’anic Recitation Competition (Musabaqa), organized by AYTAM Global Charity Foundation.
During the opening ceremony at the Manpower Development Institute in Dutse, Hajiya Hadiza welcomed the participants, assuring them that the Jigawa State Government would meet all their needs during their stay. She emphasized that supporting less privileged individuals, especially orphans, is akin to helping oneself both in this world and the hereafter, as well as contributing to building a brighter future for the nation.
Hajiya Hadiza also reaffirmed the commitment of the current administration to improving the lives of orphans, children, women, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups in the state. She encouraged the participating orphans to work hard and represent their respective states as good ambassadors wherever they go.
In his remarks, the chairman of the competition, Dr. Mubarak Ahmad, praised the Jigawa State Government and the First Lady for their dedication to the welfare of the less privileged and the promotion of Islamic values. He explained that the competition aims to encourage orphans to excel in Qur’anic recitation, just like other children.
This year, around 400 orphans participated in four categories of the Qur’anic recitation competition.
