After the release of N1.2 billion as a counterpart to Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL), the Jigawa state Governor Malam Umar Namadi recieved four best performance awards of the year 2023.
Speaking shortly after receiving the awards at government house Dutse, Governor Namadi said, this was achieved as result of tireless efforts made by the members of technical committee both from ministry of environment, Agriculture, water resources and other stakeholders.
Governor Namadi, explained that, as part of effort to improve the lives of Jigawa citizens, his administration committed the sum of N1.2 billion as counterpart to ACReSAL in the year 2023.
He then commended the committee and assured more support to any project that will help in improving the life of Jigawa People.
Presenting the award to governor, the ACReSAL project coordinator Alhaji Yahaya Muhammad Uba with support of Commissioner of Environment Dr Nura Muhammad Yandoka said, Jigawa clinched best position into areas as well as second in another two areas.
According to him, the two areas that Jigawa emerged best include transparency and Integrity and release of counterpart to ACReSAL, while in other areas of project implementation and high number of registered Association that benefited with the project.
He then commended Governor Namadi for his concern and support to the project particularly the increase of counterpart from N200 million to N1.2 billion.
