The Jigawa state government said, it constructed 4,077 hand pump ana 449 new brand of solar schemes across the state.
The commissioner of water resources in the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Garba Hannun Giwa dropped the hint at biweekly media engagement forum organised by Jigawa state correspondent chapel, held manpower development institute Dutse.
Hannun Giwa explained that, this was achieved in six years administration of governor Muhammad Abubakar Badaru through state ministry of water resources.
According to him, as a result Jigawa state now declared second after Lagos State in terms of provision of access and fortable drinking water across the 27 local government areas in the state.
He said, within the last six years also the administration of governor Badaru succeeded in converting 2,084 mechanise boreholes to solar water system across the state.
While speaking on, rural water supply, the commissioner said, Jigawa government incollaboration with federal government concluded arrangement to embark on N12 billion water projects in Jigawa rural areas.
He then called on the good people of Jigawa to support government’s effort by vigilanting water projects against the vandals whom are always busy vandalising the facilities in the state.
While making his remarks, the chairman Jigawa state correspondent chapel comrade Muhammad Zangina Kura said, the forum will continue to engage both government and opposition to give their contribution towards development of Jigawa and it’s citizens at large.
He then commended governor Badaru for this achievements,urging other governors to emulate governor Badaru for a better dividends of democracy to the Nigeria citizens.
