The Jigawa state government signed agreement with European Union, United Nation Children Education’s Funds,Forign Commonwealth Development Office, Islamic Bank and World Bank with aims to improve water sanitation and hygiene.
This was announced by the State commissioner of water resources Alhaji Muhammad Ibrahim Garba Hannun Giwa while fielding questions to news men during the biweekly media engagement organised by Jigawa state correspondent chapel, held at manpower development institute Dutse.
He explained that, this part of the present administration’s effort to provide hygienic environment and ensure accessible and fortable water to it’s citizens.
According him, the agreement already started yielding a positive results as 18 out of 27 local governments declared Open Defication free in the state.
He maintained that, the state also attained second position in the country and first position in the north on provision of portable and accessible water drinking to the citizens.
The commissioner said, this was achieved as result of governor Badaru’s political will and his Continuenity agenda as 95 percent of inherited projects was completed by his administration.
While making his remarks, the chairman Jigawa state correspondent chapel comrade Muhammad Zangina Kura said, the forum will continue to engage both government and opposition to give their contribution towards development of Jigawa and it’s citizens at large.
He then commended governor Badaru for this achievements,urging other governors to emulate governor Badaru for a better dividends of democracy to the Nigeria citizens.
