As part of effort to ensure citizens priority and participation in budget and project execution, the Jigawa state government expressed it’s readiness to adopt new digital system (NomTrack tools) for engaging citizens in project execution in the state.
This was announced by the permanent secretary ministry of Budget and economic planning, Alhaji Yusha’u Muhammad Jaji when the ‘Project Trust’ team paid him an advocacy visit in his office at new Secretariat Dutse.
He explained that, as everything is to a digital transformation “we in Jigawa too must adopt such transformation like this NomTrack tools in our budget planning as it gives total chance to Community members to present the priority needs project to be executed in their respective Communities”.
The permanent secretary, who also reacted on project duplication, said such cases is no longer happen in Jigawa as the present administration address it.
While responding to the team at his office, the Director General Due process Jigawa state, Professor Kassim Muhammad said, the adaptation of new digital transformation in formulation budget and project execution must be taken into consideration as the world turns to global village.
The director who called on Civil Society Organizations like Connected Development (CODE) to engage professionals in the group, said there is needs for more enlightenment to the community members to own and monitor public projects.
Also speaking on how to address challenges of People’s with Disability’s needs to access public projects, he maintained that, the present administration in the state made it compulsory for any contractor to design and provide anything for the PWD in the projects.
