JUST IN: Fubara Barred from Entering Rivers Assembly Quarters Amid Political Crisis

Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers State, was on Wednesday denied access to the Rivers State House of Assembly quarters in Port Harcourt.

Fubara and his entourage arrived at the premises, only to find the gates firmly shut, preventing their entry.

The assembly quarters currently serve as the meeting venue for the faction of the Rivers Assembly led by Martin Amaewhule, a group that remains loyal to Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT).

The lingering power struggle between Fubara and Wike over control of the state’s political structure has deepened tensions within the government.

This rift has resulted in a sharp division within the Rivers State Assembly, further escalating the political crisis in the state.
