A faction of the All Progressive Congress (APC) opposed to the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje have perfected the plot to smear his image and those of his family members.
The Forum for Promoting Good Good Governance a socio-political group based in Kano raised the alarm in a statement made available to PRIME TIME NEWS.
The group led by Comrade Haliru Ladan claimed that a member of the faction has put in place measures to embark on a serial campaign of calumny to smear the image of members of the first family.
A statement on the issue made available to PRIME TIME NEWS has identified a former employee of the state as the mastermind of the plot.
Although, the statement didn’t mention the name of the former employee who it stated was relieved of his position recently working in cahoot with some members of the ruling All Progressive Party (APC) who have formed a parallel executive.
Mr Ladan hinted that part of the machination is to sponsor frivolous petitions to anti-graft agencies accusing members of the family corruption allegations.
He said children of the governor are in the category of the first target thereafter the first lady Hafsat Ganduje will equally be subjected to similar accusations.
Mr Ladan warned those plotting what he described as evil to halt it, threatening to expose them if they go ahead.
” I want to draw the attention of the whole world to this evil plot to tarnish the image of the family of Ganduje. We know those behind the plot just because they are no longer in government or one thing happened, they have now resorted to blackmail.
“If they didn’t stop this campaign we won’t hesitate to report them to the police to investigate them, that I can assure them. We know their meeting venues and details of the meetings.”
