The Kano State House of Assembly in collaboration with the state’s ministry of health and development partners has concluded a three-day retreat, assuring their commitment to the passage of Kano Centre of Disease Control bill and pre marital/Anti discrimination bill.
According to the lawmakers, they would ensure passage of the bills based on professional inputs while on legislative proceedings.
This is contained in a statement on Saturday signed by Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, Chief Press Secretary to Rt Hon Speaker House of Assembly Kano State.
The retreat which was held at Bafra hotel, Kaduna State had the Speaker Kano State House of Assembly, Rt Hon jibrin Ismail Falgore and Kano State Commissioner of Health, Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusuf in attendance in addition to top lawmakers and important stakeholders.
During the retreat, Falgore noted the importance of the bills to the good people of the state and restated the assembly’s commitment to passage of the bills that would improve on the wellbeing of the good people of Kano State.
Falgore commended the development partners for supporting the retreat for the lawmakers in the state.
He also used the opportunity to thank the honourable members and other participants for their commitment and endurance towards making valuable contributions to the development of the state.
The development partners include NCDC, RTSL, FCDO-lafiya, LISDEL,eHealth Africa, SFH, GHAI, GGHN, UNICEF, BUK/AKTH and other resource persons.
