The Kano State Government has described Insinuations, that Governor Ganduje is pressing for the removal of Former Governor, Senator Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau as Sardauna Kano, as baseless speculations.
Late Emir Ado Bayero, appointed Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau as Sardauna Kano sometimes in 2007.
Already the Ancient City of Kano is awash with the speculations that following APC internal wranglings arising from the last Wards, Local and State Congresses, Governor Umar Abdullahi Ganduje is hatching plans to strips Shekarau of his Sardauna Kano Tittles as a payback to his disloyalty.
However, responding to the allegations, the Special Adviser to Governor, Ganduje, on Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Tijjani Mailafiya Sanka, said, “the speculations is nothing but an imaginary story which has no basis”.
Sanka, reminded that, “Governor Ganduje is generous Pleasant hearted Person, who even payback bad deeds with lots of goodies, just like in the case of Shekarau himself, when he picked him from near Political oblivion to the Senate”.
He said, “when in 2019,Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau completely lost out in Politics, Governor Ganduje picked him, washed him and anointed him alone without allowing anybody to Contest with him Kano Central Senatorial District position”.
“Yes, Ganduje did that with open mind despite the fact that Shekarau has been battling their former government from 2003 to 2015, but the governor as somebody who keep aside bad deeds, still considered Shekarau for the Senate position”.
He said, ” what has Shekarau Sardauna Tittles got to do with Governor Ganduje?, As a Governor would he claims the position if Shekarau is eventually removed, no I think this story I’m even suspecting it might have eminent from even the Shekarau circle in fear of their misdeeds to Governor Ganduje”.
Sanka said the whole born of contention today is the issues of APC Congresses which the National Headquarters has recognized Ganduje’s Congress, and Shekarau and others are not happy so they can cooked whatever Story against the Governor
