Kano Deputy Governor assumes office as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, pledges transparent governance

In a move aimed at fostering transparent governance and transforming the local government areas (LGAs) in Kano State, Deputy Governor Comr. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo has assumed office as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

With a commitment to an open and inclusive administration, Gwarzo aims to revitalize the LGAs, shifting them from a gloomy atmosphere to an eventful environment.

The new Commissioner gave the assurance at the Ministry for Local government shortly after his inauguration while receiving the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Alhaji Yusuf Datti Hussein, along with other Directors of the Ministry.

Comr. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo expressed gratitude governor Abba Kabir Yusuf granting him for opportunity to serve in this new role. He acknowledged the importance of local government administration in delivering effective governance and emphasized the need for transparency and inclusivity in all processes.

Gwarzo outlined his vision for the LGAs, highlighting his determination to create an environment that is conducive to progress and development.

He emphasized the need for collaboration and synergy among all stakeholders, including traditional rulers, local government officials, and the citizens themselves. The commissioner stressed that everyone’s input would be crucial in achieving meaningful transformation.

“The era of a gloomy atmosphere within our local government areas is over. We are committed to creating an eventful environment where the needs and aspirations of the people are given top priority” declared Gwarzo.

To achieve this, the newly-appointed commissioner pledged to implement a transparent and accountable system of governance.

He assured the people of Kano State that their administration would be guided by transparency, accountability, and the desire to transform the LGAs into thriving centers of socioeconomic development.

In his remarks, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Alhaji Yusuf Datti Hussein pledged to toil with dedication along with other staff members of the Ministry towards actualizing the vision of the newly posted Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs.
