Kano Deputy Governor Receives Emir Sanusi II on Sallah Homage, Reaffirms Commitment to Security, Cultural Preservation

The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, on Sunday, received His Royal Highness, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, at the Government House in a special Sallah homage on behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Welcoming the Emir, Comrade Gwarzo described him as a beacon of wisdom, exemplary leadership, and intellectual distinction, adding that the people of Kano are proud to have him serve as the revered custodian of their traditions.

He stated that the Emir stands as a symbol of dignity and enlightenment, adding that his return to the throne has rekindled pride and confidence among the people of Kano.

Gwarzo used the occasion to highlight the urgent need for enhanced security across Northwestern Nigeria, stressing that safety is essential to reviving agriculture and driving sustainable economic development.

He called on security agencies and relevant authorities to intensify efforts to safeguard communities in the region.

He also reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to protecting and promoting the state’s rich cultural and religious heritage in partnership with the Kano Emirate.

Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo disclosed that the bond between the government and the traditional institution remains strong, stressed that
together we will continue to work for the peace, progress, and unity of our dear state.

The Deputy Governor also offered prayers for the souls of the Kano State contingents who recently lost their lives in a fatal road accident while returning from Ogun State, expressing another sympathy to traders affected by the fire outbreak that destroyed several shops at the Farm Center GSM Market in Kano.

Responding, the Emir of Kano, khalifa Malam Muhammadu Sunusi II expressed gratitude to the State Government for its continued support and reaffirmed the traditional institution’s dedication to fostering harmony and development in the State.

The visit formed part of the annual Hawan Nasarawa tradition, symbolizing mutual respect and collaboration between the Kano Emirate and the state government.
