Kano Gov’t Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Health Sector, Partners CCCRN on THRIVE Project

The Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the health sector through strategic partnerships aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable children and adolescents across the state.

The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, made this known while receiving a delegation from the Center for Clinical Care and Research of Nigeria (CCCRN) led by its Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ayodotun Olutola, during a courtesy visit to his office.

Comrade Gwarzo commended the CCCRN management for its dedication and the launch of the THRIVE Project (Transforming Health and Resilience for Individuals through Vibrant Empowerment), which seeks to improve the health and well-being of children and young people, particularly the most vulnerable.

He described the initiative as timely and aligned with the state government’s vision of strengthening child health, adolescent development, and family wellness.

He said that the Children and young people remain our greatest assets, that is why the Kano State Government continues to prioritize investments in healthcare, child protection, and other initiatives that bring hope and opportunity to every child.

Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo welcome the THRIVE Project and remain committed to building synergies that will ensure no child or adolescent in Kano is left behind.

He assured CCCRN of the government’s full support and expressed optimism that strong collaboration will yield better outcomes in tackling critical health issues affecting children and adolescents in the state.

In his remarks, Dr. Ayodotun Olutola, CEO of CCCRN, explained that the THRIVE Project is designed to deliver high-quality health and social services to orphans and vulnerable children, including those living with HIV.

He emphasized that the project’s goal is to improve the well-being of children living with HIV, reduce HIV-related risks among young people, and ultimately achieve sustained epidemic control.

Dr. Olutola further disclosed that the project offers a broad service package including HIV care and treatment, treatment monitoring, nutrition and food security support, and the management of minor illnesses.

The visit marked the formal introduction of the THRIVE Project to the Kano State Government, signaling a new chapter of partnership in advancing healthcare delivery and social support for vulnerable populations in the state.
