The Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, announced today that the board has remitted over 18 billion Naira to the National Hajj Commission for the necessary arrangements for the 2024 pilgrimage.
Sulaiman A. Dederi, Public Relations Officer of the Board disclosed this development in a statement issued to newsmen on Wednesday.
Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u stated that although 3,110 individuals have applied for pilgrimage arrangements, many are still awaiting their visas from the National Hajj Commission.
He urged the Commission to expedite the visa issuance process before the closing date, emphasizing the commitment of the Kano State Government, under the leadership of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to complete renovations at the Hajj camp before the airlifting begins.
The Director General highlighted that, unlike last year, the government has provided all necessary equipment at the Hajj Camp ahead of the pilgrimage for the benefit of the pilgrims.
Hajiya Rabi D’nyako, the Head of Administration at the National Hajj Commission’s Kano office, expressed her commitment to addressing the visa complaints and promptly submitted an inventory questionnaire to the Pilgrims Board.
In closing, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusif Lawan, extended gratitude to the National Hajj Commission for their visit, acknowledging its timeliness.
Alhaji Yusif Lawan also commended the National Hajj Commission Kano office for their cooperation.
