Kano Pillars to play 2021/2022 league season at Sani Abacha stadium- LMC

The League Management Company, LMC has expressed satisfaction with the current situation of Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata in Kano State, which is the home ground of Kano Pillars Football Club.

This was disclosed by the Chief Executive Officer of the LMC, Alhaji Salihu Abubakar when he led a team to inspect the stadium facilities on Saturday.

According to Abubakar, the situation of the stadium is impressive, adding that the Sai Masu Gida would be playing their home matches in the upcoming season.

“The facilities we see on the ground here in Sani Abacha Stadium Kofar Mata Kano is far better than some of the stadia in the country,” Abubakar was quoted as saying in a statement by the Pillars’ Media Officer, Lurwanu Malikawa

“We want Pillars FC to be back to their home ground this season, but there are some minor repairs which we discussed with Kano state commissioner of sports, state football Association, Kano Pillars FC management and stadium management which we expect them to do it within short period of time,” he added.

He pointed out that LMC is proud of the turnout of fans in every Pillars’ home matches, which according to him, is used as one of the avenue of getting the attention of the league sponsors.

The CEO confirmed that the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL season would kick off in November.

In his remarks, the Commissioner of Sports, Kabiru Ado Lakwaya, while onducting the inspection team round the premises of the stadium, assured that all the request to renovate some parts of the facility would be granted before the commencement of the league.

Lakwaya also reiterated the Kano state government’s determination to do anything humanly possible to see that people of the state watch their darling team this year at Sani Abacha Stadium.

He also assured that all sports facilities in the state would be renovated to the international standard soon.

Kano State Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Sharif Rabi’u Inuwa Ahlan, Chairman Kano Pillars FC, Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Yahaya Jambul and management of Sani Abacha Stadium are among the personalities that received the inspection team at the stadium.
