The Kano State Government has announced a temporary 5-hour lift of the 24-hour curfew imposed yesterday.
This curfew was initially enforced by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Thursday after an anti-government protest turned violent, resulting in loss of lives and looting.
Today, the state Attorney General, Barr. Isa Dederi, made the announcement on behalf of the government.
He stated, “This temporary relaxation is to allow Muslim worshippers to attend Juma’at prayers and to permit brisk shopping. The 24-hour curfew will resume at 5 PM.”
