KEDCO Announces Prepaid Meter Upgrade with Key Change Tokens
Kano Electricity Distribution Plc. (KEDCO) has announced a system and prepaid meter upgrade that involves a Token Identifier (TID) Rollover, starting in December 2023.
In a statement issued to PRIME TIME NEWS by KEDCO’s Head of Corporate Communications, Sani Bala Sani, disclosed the upgrade aims to enhance the security and reliability of the prepaid meter system and improve user experience for customers.
According to Bala, prepaid customers will be required to input key-change tokens (KCT1 & KCT2) into their meters as part of the upgrade. These tokens are free and will not affect the current electricity tariff. They are designed to facilitate the migration to the newer system.
He added that, the issuance and input of key-change tokens will begin in December 2023. Bala assured customers that KEDCO’s customer service team will be available throughout the process to answer any questions.
“This upgrade is essential to deliver a more robust and efficient prepaid meter system. We thank you for your trust in us as we look forward to serving you better with an enhanced prepaid metering system. said KEDCO’s spokesperson.
