KKU Is Determined To Foster Qualitative Tertiary Education – Prof Gambo

Vice Chancellor of Karl Kumm University, Professor Audu Gambo, has disclosed that the institute is committed to building a strong collaborative relationship between government, industry and academia with a view to charting new frontiers in the provision of quality tertiary education.

The Vice Chancellor made the comment on the occasion of the second matriculation ceremony of the institution held at its main campus Vom, Jos South LGA of Plateau State.

He stated that the day marked a milestone in the life of the University as another set of students were  matriculated after careful screening and found admissible into the various academic programs they applied for.

“We followed strictly the admission guidelines as prescribed by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), to avoid the wrath of the agency.

Professor Audu added that as a faith based University, the institution was passionately committed to inculcating godly values in its students, in addition to fostering scientific knowledge for the benefit of humanity.

“The University is leaving no stone unturned in its resolute determination to produce top-class graduates in different fields with competitive skills to find relevance in the global space.

“We are training you to become global citizens who are imbued with good skills to drive the enterprise of national development”.
“The triple helix model is our strategy towards boosting skill-oriented knowledge in the 21st Century as opposed to the theoretical knowledge that is currently the norm in Nigeria”.

The VC said KKU was reaching out to some Universities within and outside Nigeria with the strategic aim of signing MoUs with them towards enriching the Curriculum of the KKU and boosting innovative research, teaching and learning.

Consequently, Professor Audu expected the matriculants (who are second set of KKU) to demonstrate good sense lof godliness, industry, integrity, discipline and tolerance of diversity.

He said that KKU had zero-tolerance for cultism, drug abuse, stealing, consumption of alcohol, and other illicit substances, examination misconduct, inappropriate use of social media, truancy, indecent dressing, ruffian behavior and any other conduct that threatens the integrity of the person and the University.

The VC urged the students to pursue their studies with unwaivering faith, resilience and determination to conquer any obstacle on their path to greatness and excellence.

Our correspondent in Jos, Tongnaan Dada Bawa reports that over fifty nine students were matriculated and they all promised to adhered to the codes of conduct of the university God helping them.

There were also goodwill messages from members of the board of Trustees and Vice Chancellors of other universities.
