KNSG seeks stronger collaborative support from British Govt

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has appealed for a stronger collaborative relationship and increased support from the British Government.

He made the plea when he received the new British High Commissioner in Nigeria, Mr. Richard Montgomery on courtesy visit in his office.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Sanusi Bature, Chief press secretary to the governor on Tuesday.

He mentioned that sectors requiring strong collaborative relationships include Education, Health, Agriculture, institutional reforms, climate change, and social changes as well as the people with the special needs (Disabled).

The governor also expressed the ardent need by the British Government to continue to invest in the state as the Kano is in need of more foreign investors and industries.

In reflecting on the enduring partnership between Kano and the British Government, Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude for their generous assistance across a range of human endeavors, facilitated by the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) and other associated international organizations.

He then used the avenue to congratulate the new British High Commissioner, hoping that their relationship with Kano will continue to wax stronger.

Earlier the British High Commissioner, Mr. Richard Montgomery disclosed that he was at the government House for a familiarization visit as well as to have an opportunity to discuss areas of collaboration with Kano state Government.

The High Commissioner indicated an interest in supporting the state in the areas of Education, Health, Agriculture, Partnership in Higher Education and Government efficiency among others.

He also congratulated the governor for his successful election campaign, which led to his assumption of leadership as the Governor of Kano State.
