The Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA) has commissioned new zonal offices across strategic locations in the state as part of efforts to bring its services closer to the people and improve effective service delivery.
This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen by Bahijja Malam Kabara, Public Relations Officer, KNUPDA today.
According to Bahijja, the newly commissioned offices are located at Wudil Zone, Ungoggo, Gwarzo Road, Zaria Road, and Hadeja Road. The initiative is aimed at easing access for residents to lay complaints, seek building permits, and address other building-related matters without undue stress.
Speaking during the commissioning exercise, the Managing Director of KNUPDA, Arc. Hauwa Hassan, stated that the establishment of the zonal offices would enhance efficiency, reduce congestion at the headquarters, and promote better interaction between the Authority and the public.
Arc. Hauwa Hassan also commended the Kano State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for supporting KNUPDA with the provision of 20 motorcycles to facilitate easy mobility and smooth service delivery by staff, particularly in monitoring and enforcement duties across the state.
According to her, the gesture demonstrates the government’s resolve to strengthen urban planning institutions and ensure orderly development in Kano State.
The Managing Director was accompanied during the commissioning by the Managing Director of ART&V, Alhaji Hauwa, all KNUPDA Directors, and other members of staff.
KNUPDA reassures the general public of its readiness to serve and encourages residents to make use of the nearest zonal office for all planning and building-related services.
