The Kano Patriotic Front (KPF), has taken proactive steps to address security challenges in Kano State by engaging with the Nigerian Army’s 3 Brigade at Bukavu Barracks.
Maj. General Ibrahim Sani (Retired), Chairman of the Kano Patriotic Front (KPF), earlier today, led a delegation from the forum for a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Army Headquarters, 3 Brigade, located at Bukavu Barracks in Kano State.
During the visit, Maj. General Sani expressed the forum’s gratitude to the Brigade for its swift response to a recent security breach in the state. He also discussed ongoing security challenges, particularly the issue of drug abuse among youths in the region.
Maj. General Sani (Retired) noted that the KPF had previously raised several security concerns with the Commandant of the Brigade, who promptly established a committee that successfully led to the arrest of individuals involved in criminal activities.
He explained that the KPF, as an organization based outside the barracks but closely connected with the civilian population, is committed to reporting any security anomalies to the military headquarters, as well as to other security agencies, including the police and Hisbah.
Maj. General Sani proposed that employing youths in various sectors could significantly reduce the high rate of criminal activities affecting certain communities in the state.
He also urged the public to report any security anomalies to the relevant security agencies or directly to the KPF, which would ensure that the issues are brought to the appropriate authorities for prompt action.
Responding Brigadier General Musa Abubakar Sadiq, the Commandant of the brigade, expressed his happiness with the visit, stating that General Sani is his mentor.
He also urged the Kano Patriotic Front (KPF) to intensify efforts in educating the public about the growing issue of begging in Kano.
