Our Correspondent who went round the city, especially parts of Municipal and Nasarawa Local Government Areas, found that voters came out as early as 7 a.m. to exercise their franchise.
The election personnel and materials too, arrived the polling units as early as 8 a.m., especially at the Emir’s Palace, Kwalli Police Station, School For Arabic Studies and the Old Kano State Library.
Other polling units that are witnessing the development are those located at Gidan Makama Primary School, Unguwar Gini Comprehensive Health Centre, Magwan Primary School and Government Junior Secondary School,Race Course.
Similarly, security is tight in all the areas visited and other areas in between, with military personnel, the Police,Civil Defence Corps,FRSC and other security operatives manning the majority streets of the city, screening people as they approach the polling stations.
There is also a total compliance of the order restricting movement of unauthorized vehicles in the city with the streets virtually deserted.
