The remains of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, arrived Katsina on Tuesday amid a solemn atmosphere as preparations intensify for his burial in his hometown of Daura.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu personally received the body at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport, alongside top government officials, family members, and security chiefs.
From the airport, the body will be conveyed under tight security to Daura, where he will be laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
Dignitaries, political associates, and sympathizers from across the country have continued to arrive Katsina to pay their last respects to the late elder statesman, whose passing marks the end of an era in Nigeria’s political history.
