The Member Representing Isoko Federal constituency comprising Isoko North/South Local Government area of Delta State Pastor Engr Jonathan Ajiroghene Ukodhiko has called on Isoko people to pray for their leaders.
The lawmaker dropped the hint shortly after disbursement of Christmas gift to party leaders executive and support groups held at his home town Erawha-Owhe in lsoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Hon. Ukodhiko who said, the gifts is part of the activities to celebrate the season, emphasized the importance of prayers for those in authority adding that, prayer is the key to unlocking doors of opportunities and surmounting impossible situations as well as guiding leaders to the right path.
He also urged political leaders who are representing the people to have the fear of God in them and ensure they do the needful by protecting the interest of the people they are representing.
Ukodhiko also noted that it was for the above reason he contested for the position and called on all political leaders and the people to embrace love and unity as it is the foundation of growth and development.
Also speaking, the PDP chairman Isoko North local government Area and the immediate past chairman of Delta State land Allocation committee Elder Godwin Ogoruba commended the efforts adding that, it is the responsibility of political leaders to reach out to the people they are representing.
Hon. Ogoruba who confirmed that this gesture is inbuilt, also said the act is not a favour but the right thing to be done by every political leader.
He then, called on Federal Government to ensure an effective measure for better distribution of palliative to Nigerian citizens instead of unilateral cash transfer as the money does not get to those who are in need of it.
The items distributed at the event, include six hundred bags of rice, one hundred bags of salt some cartons of Indomie and wheel chairs, with two hundred bags of rice were distributed to both Isoko North/South party members.
Responding on behalf of the Beneficiaries the market woman leader of Otor-Igho, Mrs Uyoyo Akpojene, expressed gratitude to Honourable Ukodhiko for extending a hand of fellowship to them and pray God to continue to guide him as he pilots the affairs of the constituency.
