LGEA, Islamiyya School Proprietors Interface for Improved Service Delivery in Yobe

From Ahmed Mujahid, Yobe

As public and private schools prepare for the end of the third term, signaling the commencement of a new session after the August vacation, the Nguru Local Education Authority (LGEA) hosted a delegation of Islamiyya School proprietors to discuss improvements.

The meeting, held before the vacation starting on August 2, 2024, was led by Alhaji Hamisu Ado, Education Secretary of Nguru LGA, Yobe State.

He emphasized the positive outcomes from the collaboration between LGEA and the Islamiyya Proprietors Association, urging both parties to maintain these efforts.

Ado also stressed the need for all Islamiyya schools in Nguru LGA to register with the Islamic and Arabic Education Board to maximize available benefits.

To facilitate this, a dedicated desk officer has been deployed for smooth registration of all Islamiyya schools in the locality.

Earlier, UNICEF facilitator Mallam Mohammed Garba Umar encouraged attendees to take advantage of the support from ISAEB and other partners to improve educational outcomes for Islamiyya School pupils.

Mallam Mohammed Daha Ibrahim, Chairman of the Proprietors Association Forum, urged members to continue their complementary roles in supporting government efforts to provide quality education and eradicate poverty through sound policies and programs from the Yobe State Government.

Additionally, the desk officer for Islamiyya schools, Mallam Mohammed Ibrahim Galadima, disclosed that 35 Islamiyya schools have been registered so far, with the registration process ongoing.
