Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni on Saturday, visited his Jigawa State counterpart, Governor Umar Namadi, in Kafin Hausa to condole with him over the tragic loss of his mother, Hajiya Maryam, and his son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.
Hajiya Maryam passed away on December 25, 2024, following a brief illness in Kafin Hausa. Abdulwahab tragically died the next day while traveling to Kafin Hausa to pay his condolences on the death of his grandmother.
In a statement signed by Mamman Mohammed, the Director General of Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Buni described the deaths of two close family members as a heartbreaking and irreparable loss to Governor Namadi, his family, and the entire Jigawa State.
“As believers, we are consoled by the fact that it was their appointed time, and nothing happens to a believer except by the will of Allah, the Creator,” Governor Buni said.
He prayed for the repose of their souls, asking Allah to grant them eternal rest in Aljannat Firdaus. “It is equally our prayer that Almighty Allah, in His infinite mercy, provides the family and loved ones with solace and the fortitude to bear this sad and tragic loss,” he added.
Governor Buni further assured Governor Namadi and the people of Jigawa State that the government and people of Yobe State stand with them in prayers during this difficult time.
