The president of Maryam Abacha America university of Nigeria, Prof Abubakar Adamu Gwarzo has name the faculty of law building at the University after late veteran northern singer Hajiya Magajiya Danbatta along with honouring her with a Posthumous honorary degree for her immense contribution to Education in 1970, especially in Northern Nigeria.
This statement was first published by Prof Gwarzo in his @PresidentMaaun social media handle and later published by the Director and technical lead program of Abubakar Adamu Gwarzo foundation a PhD scholar Dr Musa Abdullahi Sufi via his social Media handle on 9 October 2021. This is coming a day after her death.
Dr Sufi added that magajiya Danbatta was an exemplary heroine in the northern part of the country when it comes to Education aspects in the region, her Effort will never be in vain in the eyes of patriotic citizens.
Late Mmagajiya Danbatta before her death was a great singer in Kano state and the entire Northern Region, her song then make a lot of impact including influencing the huge enrollment of children into Islamic and Western Education in the region.
Late Dambatta, became blind due to life changes that lead her to beg for a living and was discovered by journalists led by Jafar Jafar and Dr Musa Sufi promoted the fundraising through social media.
With these funds, the late Magajiya life was changed as she got access to all social amenities including good health care support, food, weekly allowances and more.
She died after a brief illness at Danbatta General Hospital on Friday 8 October 2021.
