Morocco launches Africa’s first police cooperation center to secure the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations

Morocco has inaugurated the African Police Cooperation Center in the city of Salé, the first facility of its kind on the continent dedicated to coordinating security efforts between African police forces.

The launch coincides with Morocco’s hosting of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and reflects the country’s vision of strengthening sustainable African security partnerships.

Located in a landmark overlooking the Bouregreg River, the center forms a core pillar of the security framework designed to safeguard the tournament, which runs from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026 across six major cities.

While activated for AFCON 2025, Moroccan authorities have stated that the center is a permanent platform for continental cooperation, with future use planned for major international events including the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
