The Area Comptroller of Nigeria Customs Service, in charge of Kano and Jigawa, states Command, Alhaji Dauda Ibrahim Chana has expressed the commitment of the Service in supporting all stakeholders, especially in the Shipping and Logistics sector to achieve the desired success for the growth and development of the nation’s economy.
According to a press statement issued to newsmen by Port’s Head of Corporate Communications, Ahmad Rufai Bello on behalf of the Managing Director said, Alhaji Dauda Ibrahim Chana disclosed during a courtesy visit he paid at Dala Inland Dry Port headquarters situated at Zawachiki in Kano.
Ibrahim Chana said the sector is playing a significant role in supporting the Service in the nation’s drive towards trade facilitation, and revenue generation as well as providing job opportunities to thousands of Nigerians.
He then commended the Port’s investors for providing the State-of-the-Art facility which would not only fast-track the business delivery but also ease the smooth operations of the Customs Service.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Managing Director, of Dala Inland Dry Port, Hon. Dr Ahmad Rabiu thanked the Area Comptroller for the visit and also assured him of the port’s strict adherence to ethics, which will remain the watchword of the company.
Rabiu on behalf of the Board’s Chairman Alhaji Abubakar Sahabo Bawuro, then congratulated the new Comptroller on the new posting and prayed for the success of the entire Service.
Meanwhile, the new Officer–in-charge ( O/C) for Dala Inland Dry Port Sub-Command Alhaji M. Ahmed has since assumed duty at the port.
The new officer has pledged to give the necessary support wherever possible to the Port to achieve its desired objectives of contributing its quota to the development of Nigeria’s economy.
Receiving the new officer in his office, the Managing Director of the port, Ahmad Rabiu expressed the management and staff’s appreciation to the Service for the new posting and also promised to give him all the support to make his assignment successful.
