NDE distributes couples of animals to 40 victims of banditry in Zamfara

National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in collaboration with SAFAH and FRESH International, member national house of representatives representing Bakura/Talata Mafara and son of former Senator Yarima, Muhammad Ahmad Sani, has trained 40 victims of banditry derived from Bakura local government area of Zamfara State with a view to cushion their hardship.

Speaking during the distribution exercise of couple of goats to the beneficiaries for rearing alongside 5,000 naira each for the takeoff feeding, Zamfara State Coordinator of the NDE, Malam Abdullahi Yakubu, said the programme was facilitated by the son of former Zamfara Governor, Muhammad Ahmad Sani aimed to train and empower the victims of banditry considering the nature of conditions they found themselves.

The Coordinator further said, the Directorate has engaged an expert on livestock management and production who trained the beneficiaries on how best they could take care of the animals which includes feeding and measures to keep them healthy enough for reproduction.

He explained that, the directorate was committed to partner with organisations or individuals willing to assist in job creation and or providing employments among the teeming populace especially as the federal government vowed to diversify the nations’ economy.

Also speaking, the facilitator of the programme, Muhammad Ahmad Sani, said he had already applied for more programmes that, when approved it would change the lives of many people in Zamfara State especially who suffered from merciless attacks by the armed bandits.

“We have planned to alleviate abject poverty amongst the teeming victims of the banditry attacks in Zamfara by providing them with sources of living, and we are now currently making arrangements to sponsor the studies of orphans who lost their parents, and children whose parents were rendered jobless”, Ahmad Sani has assured.
