Kano State’s newly elected Executive Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Abdullahi Bakoji Adamu, has pledged to promote unity and champion the welfare of cattle breeders across the state.
Adamu made this statement during the affirmation ceremony held at Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, on October 2, 2024.
In his speech, Adamu expressed gratitude to Kano State Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, and Deputy Governor Comrade Abdussalam Gwarzo for their relentless support of the pastoral community.
He praised their leadership, which has promoted peace and development in Kano State, and reaffirmed MACBAN’s commitment to working closely with the state government.
PRIME TIME NEWS reports that the event was graced by national leaders of MACBAN, including the National President, Alhaji Baba Usman Ngelzarma, and other key officials.
Adamu expressed appreciation for their presence, which he said demonstrated the unity of the association and its dedication to advancing the interests of pastoralists across the country.
Adamu also acknowledged representatives from Kano’s 44 Local Government Areas, as well as other dignitaries, including Hon. Shuaibu Yanmedi, Commissioner for Special Duties, and Mallam Rabo Abubakar of the International Human Rights Commission.
In his closing remarks, Adamu assured the pastoral community that the new executive team would prioritize peaceful coexistence between herders and farmers and advocate for the rights and welfare of cattle breeders across Kano State.
He reaffirmed the association’s dedication to addressing the challenges facing pastoralists and ensuring their voices are heard at all levels of government.
