The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating the nation’s Independence Day, commending the country’s resilience and unity in the face of challenges.

In a goodwill message signed by its National Chairperson, Aisha Ibrahim, and National Secretary, Wasilah Ladan, the association extended warm wishes to all Nigerians and its members, praying for economic stability, peace, and the eradication of insecurity and banditry across the country.

NAWOJ also used the occasion to call for greater support for women’s inclusion in governance, stressing that women play a pivotal role in nation-building. The association urged stakeholders to embrace diversity, equity, and collective progress as Nigeria charts its path towards development.

“May this Independence Day inspire hope, renewal, and a brighter future for all Nigerians,” the statement read.
