The National Orientation Agency (NOA) says it will strengthen its partnership with the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Yobe State Council, to promote national values, enhance public enlightenment and ensure accurate communication between the government and the people.

The Zonal Director of NOA for North East, Alhaji Ali Audu, stated during a courtesy visit to the NUJ Secretariat in Damaturu.

Audu emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two bodies, noting that the mass media plays an important role in information dissemination and national development.

In his remarks, the Chairman of council,Comrade Rajab Muhammad Ismael, expressed the council’s readiness to support the NOA’s programmes and campaigns across the state.

Comrade Rajab then urged NOA to take deliberate steps to bring Open Government Partnership (OGP) to Yobe State.

“Yobe has been left behind for too long, missing out on the benefits of citizen-driven governance, accountability, and improved service delivery that OGP offers.

“It is time to bridge this gap and ensure that citizens are not excluded from the national movement towards openness and development,”he said.

He commended the agency’s efforts at promoting peace, unity, and civic responsibilities among Nigerians.
