The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kano State Council, has expressed its deepest condolences over the demise of one of its former members, Hajia Maryam Abdulhameed Magaji.
In a condolence message signed by the Acting Secretary of the Council, Hauwa Suleiman Zahradeen, on behalf of the Chairman, the union described the late Hajia Maryam as a committed and dedicated journalist whose contributions to the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) and her service to humanity will always be remembered.
According to the statement, the deceased served as a two-time treasurer and vice chairperson of NAWOJ, where she was known for her sisterly and friendly disposition towards members of the union.
The council noted that Hajia Maryam, of blessed memory, left a lasting impact on members of NAWOJ through her unwavering commitment to the upliftment of women in the association.
The NUJ Kano State Council extended its heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family during this difficult time and prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to grant her soul eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.
