The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chapel has declared a one-week fasting and prayer for its presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar, to come out victorious at the Presidential Election Tribunal.

The prayer sessions are scheduled to begin from Thursday, May 18 to Wednesday, May 24, and will be held at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja.

An open-air thanksgiving service has also been scheduled for May 25, called the ‘Overcomer’s Open-Air Thanksgiving Service’.

Recall that the Presidential Election Petition Court had adjourned Atiku’s case to May 18 for the continuation of the pre-hearing of the petition by the PDP and Atiku against the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, of the All Progressives Congress.

In the petition marked CA/PEPC/05/2023, the PDP and Atiku are challenging the declaration of Tinubu as the president-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, Tinubu and the APC were listed as first to third respondents in the petition.

The pre-hearing of the petition was taken first on Thursday morning after counsel for Atiku and PDP, Chris Uche (SAN), indicated an interest in the matter.

The prayer session was announced by the Chairman of the PDP Christian Religious Body, Presidential Campaign Council, Boni Haruna, and was tagged ‘At the Supreme Court of Heaven with Chief Justice of Universe’.

The chairman said the prayer and fasting are aimed at challenging the declaration of Bola Tinubu as the President-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission and rescue and recover PDP for Nigeria.
