Plateau : Military, stakeholders unite to tackle insecurity in fann district

In a bid to curb the rising tide of criminality in Fann District, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, the 3 Division Nigerian Army and Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) convened a stakeholders’ meeting on Wednesday in Jos.
In a statement signed by major Aliya Danja, the acting Deputy Director Army public relations 3 Division Nigerian Army said the gathering aimed to tackle the increasing cases of arms proliferation, cattle rustling, and other criminal activities in the region.
He said Recently military operations in the area led to the recovery of over 30 assorted weapons and military accoutrements.
Major Danja disclosed that Prominent community leaders, including HRH Da Edward Gyang and HRH Iliya Dashwei, acknowledged their role in addressing the crisis, apologizing for the incidents and pledging to collaborate with security agencies to identify and apprehend perpetrators.
The statement however said the meeting culminated in a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to intensify efforts in combating criminal elements fueling violence in the area.
