The Task Force on recovery of auctioned Properties in Plateau State said any Structure that was illegally constructed will be pulled down.
Chairman of the task force Isaac Wadak stated this after inspecting some Government properties that were allegedly encroached upon.
It will be recall that Governor Caleb Mutfwang had constituted the committee to recover some of its properties, which were allegedly carted away or wrongfully allocated by the immediate past administration in the State.
The inspection on Friday in Jos, took the committee to the Plateau Agricultural Development Project, a green area by the Yelwa club and the Kara market, which is known for cattle business.
Speaking to Journalists after the inspection, Chairman of the committee, Isaac Wadak, represented by a sub Commitee Chairman David Zoyong expressed worry that the land that were meant for other purposes were allocated to individuals without following the right process.
He gave an example of the land beside the Yelwa club and the Kara market where he said there was great abuse of process in the allocation of the land.
Wadak explained that the committee is not out to witch-hunt anyone but to ensure that the right thing is done.
Sectary of the Committee Pam Gyang Davou said the committee also recovered some vehicles allegedly carted away by the immediate past administration.
While acknowledging that those in custody of the vehicles have been cooperating, Gyang Davou said the Government will not use it’s resources to buy additional vehicles, but saving money for the State.
Vice Chairman Cattle traders at the Kara market Adams Nyoman said the market land was arbitrary sold to individuals.
At the Plateau State Agricultural Development Project, the committee observed that an approval was supposedly granted by the Government for mineral deposits to be evacuated from the site.
The Program Manager, Plateau Agricultural Development Project Paul Davou, said although he was new to the project, he found out that there was a Memorandum of Understanding with Government and a firm for the reclamation of the site, but this was done in only few of the sites.
