The Police in Jigawa have arrested two suspects over alleged theft of Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card and N1.456 million in Kiyawa Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Office (PPRO), in the state, ASP Lawan Shiisu, confirmed the arrest during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Tuesday.
Shiisu said that the suspects were arrested after they allegedly stole the SIM card belonging to one Muhammad Abdu, a resident of Fatara Housing Estate, on Oct. 18.
He said that after stealing the SIM card, the suspects allegedly stole the sum of N1.456 million from the victim’s account through transfers.
“On Oct. 20, at about 1200hrs, a complaint was received from one Mohammad Abdu Mago of Fatara Estate Kiyawa LGA, that on Oct. 18, at about 0630hrs, after he returned from mosque, he discovered that his MTN SIM card was stolen by unknown person(s).
