There was drama at Isale Ake community and it’s environment in Abẹokuta , Ogun state this week when a chieftain of All Progressive Congress in Ogun state and a former member of the National Assembly from Ogun Central in 2011 to 2015, Senator Olugbenga Obadara, ordered arrest of Community Leaders and CDA Chairmen accused them of exchanging transformer.
It was gathered that about seventeen community Leaders were detained on the order of former National Assembly member at Adatan Police station in Abẹokuta, Ogun state.
According to one of the community leaders, Amos Ajeigbe said there was agreement between the community and the contractor who brought the transformer to their communities in 2014, the leadership of the community then agreed to exchange the power transformer to Dig a borehole for the community.
Though it could not be ascertained as at time of this report why the power transformer has not be installed.
it was learnt that the lawmaker became aggressive and ordered their arrest after he was aware of the exchange..
Obadara was said to have shouted at them, ordered for their arrest and insisted to know all the Leaders involved.
When the leaders eventually arrested and detained at Adatan Police station, the community leaders reportedly apologised to the lawmaker.
It was told that the enraged lawmaker insisted that they must be taught a lesson of their life and get them arrested despite the apology.
At this point, the lawmaker went ahead to call the attention of the commissioner of Police, Mr. Lanre Sikiru Bankole who was just resumed to Ogun state that they should not be released until they were able to provide another Power transformer.
“All efforts to pacify and calm the frayed nerves of the lawmaker were unsuccessful as he flared up, throwing caution to the wind.
“It took the intervention of eminent personalities , Egba Chiefs, other prominent leaders and their colleague who thronged the police station and secured their bails with the condition from the police that they must make themselves available whenever they are being called upon,” a witness told our correspondent

Meanwhile the lawmaker did not answer his phone calls or respond to the text message sent to him when our correspondent reached out to get his reaction on the matter.
Meanwhile, The people of the community has vowed not to vote All Progressive Congress congress in coming elections.
