Projects Monitoring Tour: MPPPM&E Inspects Key Projects, Hails Contractors

In line with mandate of the Ministry for Public Procurement Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Kano State, Yesterday, the Honorable Commissioner Ministry for Public Procurement Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Hon. Ibrahim Ali Namadi Dala visited seven key ongoing projects in Kano State.

Sagiru Ado Abubakar Public Relations Officer of the Ministry disclosed this development in a Press Statement issued to newsmen on Friday.

According Sagir, the projects were dualization of the Government House-Daula Hotel Roundabout Lodge Road (40% completed), Renovation of Nuhu Bamali Maternity Hospital (100% completed), Establishment of Sickle Cells Center in Murtala Muhammad General Hospital (70% completed) and Kiru Reformatory Centre (44% completed).

Others were Female Hostels in School of Nursing Madobi and construction of two Flyover and Underpass Bridges situated at the famous Tal’udu and Dan Agundi intersections in the state.

Addressing the journalists briefly after the monitoring tour, the honorable commissioner said that his ministry guarantees to adopt monitoring system that uses high standards of efficiency, accountability, transparency, fairness, value for money and fairness for purpose of contracts works in order to meet users’ requirements

“This visit is a mechanism that the Ministry for Public Procurement Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Kano State adopts to prevent and detect the occurrence of unethical practices in project processes”, he said

“You are all witnesses how in each projects site we crosschecked, made observations and promised to come back when the need arises”, he added.

The honorable commissioner Ibrahim Ali Namadi Dala lastly expressed satisfaction with quality and level of works at all project sites.

MPPPM&E mission is to lead and coordinate public procurement with openness as well as monitoring and evaluation of all programs, projects and services delivered by all tiers of government and other stakeholders to ensure probity, prudence and competitiveness in service delivery and deliverables.
