Renowned Afrobeat artist Seun Kuti voluntarily presented himself at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja during the early hours of Monday.
Accompanied by his legal counsel and a family representative, the Grammy award winner complied with the authorities’ request.
The confirmation of Seun Kuti’s arrest was made by Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, who shared the information on his Twitter account.
Hundeyin stated that Seun Kuti is currently under police custody, emphasizing that his arrest is in accordance with the law.
The Lagos State Police Command expressed gratitude for the public’s concern regarding the matter.
They assured that the ongoing investigation will be thorough, transparent, and conducted professionally.
“The command remains committed to ensuring that justice is duly served for all parties involved in the case” he said.
