The Nigerian Cancer Society (NCS) has appointed Salisu Yusuf as the Kano State Chairman in recognition of his significant contributions to cancer awareness and health advocacy in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued to the press by the NCS National Director of Publicity, Comrade Bashir Muhammad Ranccas, who also announced Hajiya Hauwa Kakudi as the state secretary.
With over 20 years of experience in NGO and advocacy work, Yusuf currently serves as the CSO Co-chair of the Kano State Community of Practice for Immunisation Budget Accountability and Sustainability. Additionally, he holds key positions as the Secretary and Publicity Lead of the Kano State Civil Society Forum and the Kano State-Led Accountability Mechanism, among other roles.
As the convener of the Partnership for the Promotion of Maternal and Child Health, Yusuf brings a wealth of experience and a strong advocacy network to the Nigerian Cancer Society’s work in Kano. His expertise is expected to enhance policy engagement and drive community awareness and demand creation for cancer prevention and treatment in the state.
