The Social Democratic Party (SDP) achieved a significant political breakthrough in Dukku Local Government Area with the commissioning of its newly established Secretariat.
The event, led by the State Party Chairman, Comrade Adamu Abubakar Modibbo, was marked by the defection of over 2,000 members from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This large-scale shift underscores the SDP’s growing appeal, particularly among young voters.
In a statement by Engr. Muhammad Abdulkadir Kumo, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Chairman of SDP Gombe State, Comrade Modibbo expressed his appreciation for the impressive turnout.
He highlighted the party’s commitment to addressing the pressing needs of Dukku residents, including improvements in water supply, road infrastructure, and agricultural development.
“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in Dukku’s political landscape. This Secretariat symbolizes our commitment to change. Insha Allah, by 2027, we will gather here again to celebrate our victory,” Modibbo stated.
Representing Dukku SDP, Alhaji Ali Muhammad Ajasco pledged to continue mobilizing supporters and strengthening the party’s presence in the area.
The event concluded with prayers for the party’s unity, progress, and the safety of all attendees.
