Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf on Friday called on citizens of the state to be vigilant on security issues by reporting any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.

Governor Yusuf made the assertion while commissioning a Juma’at mosque at Ranawa town, Gezawa Local Government Area, Kano State.

The Deputy Governor of the State Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo conveyed the Governor’s message stressing “Security should not be taken lightly. You should report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities”  he advised.

Comrade Gwarzo further called on ward heads to be particularly watchful and ensure no fraudulent activities, such as illegal land or property sales, take place in their areas.

The Deputy Governor warned that any ward head found neglecting their duty to maintain security could risk losing their position.

In addition, Comrade Gwarzo stressed the importance of forming a hygiene committee to ensure that the mosque remains clean and in good condition.

He also encouraged the mosque committee to go beyond the basics of prayer by introducing programs aimed at teaching morals, especially for the youth, in order to promote values that can help curb social vices such as drug abuse, theft, and violence.

In his remarks, the District Head of Gezawa  LGA,  Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu Yusuf, thanked the Deputy Governor for his words of encouragement and echoed the call for proper maintenance of the mosque.

He also expressed his gratitude to the stakeholders of Gezawa for their continuous support towards the development of the local government area.
