Sen. Binos Empowers Dry Season Farmers in Adamawa with 200 Water Pumps

Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe, representing the Adamawa Southern zone, has provided a boost to 200 dry season farmers across the nine local government areas of Adamawa Southern Senatorial District as a significant move to enhance agricultural productivity.

The farmers received free water pumps during a distribution exercise held in Mayo-belwa local government area over the weekend, eliciting cheers and appreciation from the beneficiaries.

Major AVM Elam (RTD), Chairman of the distribution committee, highlighted the importance of the gesture, emphasizing that enhancing food production is a crucial driver for the economy.

The water pump distribution, sponsored by Senator Binos, is expected to significantly boost the economy of both farmers and communities, fostering increased food production for domestic and commercial purposes during the dry season.

Major Elam stressed the importance of engaging in both rainy and dry seasons farming, revealing that more empowerment programs are in the pipeline for the benefit of peasant farmers in rural communities across the Adamawa South’s nine local government areas.

He urged the beneficiaries to utilize the farming machines effectively, emphasizing that the project’s goal is to empower farmers to combat hunger.

Major Elam underlined Senator Binos’ commitment to various empowerment programs, including the distribution of water pumps, to benefit constituents from all major political parties in the state.

Commissioners for Mineral Resources, Hon. Ibrahim Haruna, and Commissioner of Transportation, Hon. Musa Kalamu, expressed delight at the empowerment initiative, commending Senator Binos for addressing the crucial need for such programs.

They called on beneficiaries to make judicious use of the water pumps, foreseeing a positive impact on agricultural production.

In interviews with beneficiaries, many expressed gratitude to Senator Binos for the kind gesture, transcending political affiliations. Mr. Kingsley Tanko, a member of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), praised Senator Binos for inclusivity, acknowledging the benefits reaching members of various political parties.

Baban Ladi Dan-Borno, another beneficiary, expressed profound gratitude, describing Senator Binos as a godsend to the people of Adamawa Southern Senatorial District. He pledged to utilize the water pump effectively, showcasing the positive impact on his commitment to dry season farming.
