Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe has sponsored the training and empowerment of 250 youths from the Adamawa Southern Senatorial Zone in solar PV technologies.
The five-day program, aimed at equipping participants with skills in solar installation, kicked off at the Pwanobato Event Centre in Numan Local Government Area on Tuesday.
Speaking at the flag-off, Senator Yaroe, represented by Hon. Katawan Boniface, Director General of his campaign team, expressed gratitude to his constituents for re-electing him to the Senate.
He noted that the training aligns with his commitment to provide impactful, sustainable projects for the region. The youths were selected from nine local governments, with 28 participants per council.
“This initiative builds on an earlier training program that saw 50 youths empowered, one of whom has now secured admission to further his studies in Russia” he said
The technical trainer, Engineer Ibrahim Taoreed Bayo, lauded Senator Yaroe’s efforts, emphasizing that the participants would receive globally-standard training in solar installation, maintenance, and functionality.
He urged the trainees to take the opportunity seriously, as the skills gained could position them for success in the fast-evolving digital world.
Engineer Bamaiyi, an official of the National Energy Commission, Abuja, highlighted that the program was a collaborative effort involving the Federal Government, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), and Alkaf Global Investment Resource Limited. He encouraged the beneficiaries to pass on their knowledge to others in their communities.
In their goodwill messages, Hon. Neido Kofulto Geoffrey, Commissioner of Women Affairs, and Hon. Innocen Kotto, Chairman of Numan Local Government Council, commended Senator Yaroe for his commitment to empowering the youth and fostering development. The training will conclude on September 28, 2024.
