The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin has commiserated with the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, over the demise of his stepmother, Hajja Hauwa Abba Kormi.
Ismail Mudashir, Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate on Media and Publicity disclosed in a press release issued to newsmen on Thursday.
Hajja Hauwa, who died in the early hours of Thursday at the age of 69, has been buried in Maiduguri, Borno State in line with Islamic injunctions.
Senator Barau, in a statement by his media aide, Ismail Mudashir, prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and admit her to Jannatul Firdausi.
He urged the Vice President and all those she left behind to take solace in the fact that she lived a righteous life dedicated to the service of Allah and humanity.
“Hajiya Hauwa was a devouted Muslim who dedicated her life to the service of Allah and humanity. May Allah SWT grant Hajiya Jannatul Firdausi.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Vice President, His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima and all other persons she left behind. May Allah give them the strength to bear her passage,” he said.
