Senator Yaroe Supports Over 10,000 Patients with Free Medical Treatment in Adamawa

The Senator Binos Yaroe’s Foundation has conducted a 3-day Mega free medical outreach treating over ten thousand (10,000) patients of different illnesses in Adamawa state.

Most of those treated at the outreach held in Numan local council area on the Monday 18th to Wednesday 20th Nov. 2024 were constituents from the nine (9) local government areas of the Adamawa Southern Senatorial district including; Jada, Ganye, Toungo, Mayo-belwa, Guyuk, Shelleng, Lamurde, Numan and Demsa.

Leader of the Medical team, Dr. Michael Misauno Aidima explained that, the turn out was massive catapulting the initial target of six thousand (6,000) to the over ten thousand (10,000) patients suffering from different ailments and diseases.

Dr. Aidima stated that, additional over four thousand (4,000) general medical consultations were conducted, along with fifty-six (56) X-ray examinations and sixty-eight (68) ultrasound scans as more than three thousand (3,000) laboratory tests were also performed.

He said that, no fewer than two thousand (2,000) eye-related cases were treated with two hundred and fifty (250) cataract surgeries as nine hundred and fifty (950) patients received glasses.

“We conducted 350 surgeries, including 50 major operations. Some of the surgeries that stand out were that of a young man with a near-severed hand from an attack, whose life was saved and the Patients with typhoid-induced intestinal perforations who underwent life-saving surgeries. These patients wouldn’t have survived without the surgeries”.Dr. Aidima narrated.

He also pointed out that the perculiarity of the Numan free medical outreach is their ability to carry out two (2) new major surgeries due to their complexity including goiters and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) which had been handled successfully thanking the expertise of anesthesiologists.

Beneficiaries interviewed by this reporter at the venue expressed gratitude to the medical intervention sponsored by Senator Binos Yaroe in his quest to enhancing the wellbeing and health status of his constituents.

Mr. Polycarp Jadiel and Hauwa Ibrahim confessed to have battling with life threatening ailments for some years due to lack of financial capabilities until now when they heard the announcement of this timely health care support and have benefitted free of charge.

According to them, the free medical outreach was one of its kinds in the history of Numan LGA and the whole of Adamawa South, due to the large turnout of community people who received one free medical service or the other.

Commenting on the exercise after visiting the patients, Senator Binos Yaroe thanked his constituents for giving another opportunity to represent them at the Senate stressing that the out reach was part of his commitment to providing free healthcare services to vulnerable populations.

“This is our way of giving back to the community, ensuring that those most in need receive essential medical services. I am committed to ensuring the people of Adamawa South have access to quality and accessible healthcare services”. Senator Yaroe assured.

In his remarks at the occasion, the Adamawa State Coordinator of Nigeria Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr. Samson applauded the effort of Senator Binos in enhancing the wellbeing of his people through the health care support.

Samson said his Organization’s zeal to a collaborative relationship with any body willing to assist vulnerable people in the society remain on a first line charge always urging other influential people to emulate the gesture from Senator Yaroe.
