The Science for Africa Foundation (SFA Foundation) and Research Enterprise Systems (RES) are set to hold Policy Roundtable on Artificial Intelligence in Health in Nigeria.
This roundtable is important and timely coming at a time that the global landscape of AI applications expands its potentials to revolutionize healthcare.
Hence, there is the need for a robust interrogation of the phenomenon with a view to developing the framework for a systematic integration of health governance.
The rapid surge in the adoption of AI in healthcare delivery especially in low- and middle-income countries like Nigeria deserves sustained intellectual engagement.
It is in light of this that the policy roundtable aims to serve as a vital platform for informing policy development, integrating AI initiatives into national frameworks, and fostering capacity-building in Nigeria’s ecosystem will focus on the significance of AI, its expansion and potential to revolutionize healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
According to a statement signed by Professor Fatai Aremu, Executive Director, Research Enterprise Systems, the event is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 19 March in Abuja and will have policy experts, and relevant stakeholders engage in discussions on the findings of SFA report and initiatives on fostering capacity-building and knowledge-sharing in Nigeria’s AI ecosystem and its alignment with continental agendas.
