As part of efforts to enlighten youths on actualizing their potential, the NGO Skill Axis Kano, with support from partners, organized a Young Leaders Summit in the state.

The summit, held yesterday at Khalifa Isyaka Rabiu University (KHAIRUN) and themed ‘Young Leaders Summit, Kano 2024,’ was the first of its kind in the ancient city of Kano, with over 300 youths in attendance.

Auwal Adam Sansan, the founder of Skill Axis Kano and the convener of the Young Leaders Summit, Kano 2024, disclosed to newsmen that the seminar aims to empower tomorrow’s leaders to unlock their potential and inspire action.

“So what informed the summit is tied to the fact that young people have the potential to harness a better Nigeria,” he said.

According to Sansan, similar summits in Lagos state require a fee of N200,000 to attend, but in Kano, he hosted the event free of charge.

Auwal called on Kano citizens and Nigerian youths at large to understand that their aim is to see young people actualizing their potential for greatness.

He advised youths to build their capacity, establish networks with like-minded peers, and increase their educational and professional qualifications.

Auwal hinted that this year’s summit, being the first in Kano, has come to stay and will be organized annually. He assured that the summit would also be hosted in states like Katsina, FCT-Abuja, and the entire northern region, eventually extending to all six geopolitical zones.

He called on the government at all levels to incorporate youth-driven activities into their action plans for achieving a better Nigeria, emphasizing that youths are the spine of every society.
